Water Sort is the relaxing color puzzle where you pour water from tube to tube until every tube holds just one color. It starts easy with three colors and grows to twelve, with every level checked to be solvable.

Is every level solvable? We checked
We wanted to know how fair water sort really is, so we dealt 25,200 random boards and solved each one completely by computer. With the usual two empty tubes, every single board could be solved, at every size from 3 to 10 colors. With only one empty tube, most boards cannot be solved at all. Our study, is every water sort puzzle solvable, has the full results. The takeaway for players: if you get stuck, the deal is not to blame. Undo a few pours and keep a tube empty for longer.
How many pours does a level need?
A perfect solution takes about three pours per color: around 8 pours for 3 colors and about 31 for 10. The move counter shows your total, so you can see how close to perfect you play.
More strategies
- Plan two pours ahead. Before pouring, ask what the move uncovers and whether you can use it straight away.
- Keep one tube for sorting. Use a single empty tube as your working space and fill it only with a color you can complete soon.
- Finish tubes early. A completed tube leaves the game for good and frees your attention.
- Avoid splitting a color. Pouring two layers into a tube with room for one leaves the color spread across two tubes.

How to play Water Sort Puzzle
- Each tube holds up to four layers of colored water.
- Tap a tube to pick it up, then tap the tube you want to pour into.
- Water only pours onto the same color, or into an empty tube, and only while there is room.
- Pouring moves every layer of the top color that fits.
- The level is solved when every tube is empty or filled with one color.

Keep an empty tube free
An empty tube is your most valuable space. Fill it only when it helps you finish a color, and try to empty another one soon after.
Finish short stacks first
A color that is already on top of two or three tubes can often be joined in a couple of pours. Clearing it opens room for the rest.
Think a few pours ahead
Before you pour, check what the move uncovers. The best pour is often the one that reveals a color you can pour right away.
