How the verbal memory test works

Tips for a higher score

1. Make each new word vivid. Picture it, or link it to something personal. A vivid memory is easier to recognize later.
2. Trust your first reaction. Long hesitation tends to create doubt and false memories.
3. Watch for similar words. Words that look or mean the same as an earlier one can trick you. Check the exact word.
4. Keep a steady pace. Rushing leads to careless mistakes, but slowing down too much lets doubt creep in.
