Classic solitaire, free and online
Klondike is the solitaire most people grew up with: seven columns, a deck to draw from and four foundations to build from Ace to King. This version is made for today’s screens: tap a card and it moves to the best spot, drag stacks where you want them, and undo as often as you like.
Choose Draw 1 for a relaxed game or Draw 3 for the classic challenge. Switch to full screen for bigger cards.
How to play Solitaire
- Move all 52 cards to the four foundation piles, one pile per suit, from Ace up to King.
- In the seven columns, stack cards downward in alternating colors, for example a red 6 on a black 7.
- You can move a correctly ordered stack as one group. Only a King can go into an empty column.
- Tap the deck to turn over cards. In Draw 3 you turn three at a time and can play the top one.
Solitaire tips
Uncover face-down cards first
The hidden cards in the columns are what block you. Prefer moves that turn a face-down card over, even if another move looks tempting.
Don't rush cards to the foundations
A low card on a foundation can't help you build columns any more. Keep 2s and 3s on the table if you may still need them to move other cards.
Empty a column only when a King is ready
An empty column is only useful for a King. Clear one when you have a King waiting, not before.
Frequently asked questions
Is every game of solitaire winnable?
No. Some Klondike deals can't be won, especially in Draw 3. Most Draw 1 deals are winnable with careful play.
What's the difference between Draw 1 and Draw 3?
In Draw 1 you turn one card at a time from the deck, which is easier. In Draw 3 you turn three and can only play the top one, which is the classic, harder version.
How do I move cards quickly?
Tap a card and it moves to the best legal spot, a foundation first if it fits. You can also drag cards or whole stacks, and undo any move.
