Board games are some of the oldest strategy games in the world. Checkers has been played for centuries, and Reversi and Four in a Row are modern classics that still hold up. The games
- Mahjong Solitaire: clear a board of 144 stacked tiles by matching free pairs. Every deal can be won.
- Checkers: classic American rules with compulsory captures, multi-jumps and kings.
- Reversi: trap your opponent’s discs between yours to flip them. Corners are gold.
- Four in a Row: drop discs into the board and be the first to line up four.
How to get better at strategy games
- Think about your opponent’s reply. Before every move, ask what the best answer to it would be.
- Control the key squares. The center in Four in a Row, the corners in Reversi and the back row in checkers are worth more than they look.
- Count your options. In most of these games, the player with more good moves available is the one who is winning.
- Play the harder level. Losing to the hard computer and then working out why is the fastest way to improve.

Can I play against the computer?
Yes. Checkers, Reversi and Four in a Row each have a computer opponent on three levels, from easy (it makes mistakes on purpose) to hard (it looks several moves ahead).
Can two people play on one device?
Yes. Choose 2 players and take turns on the same screen. It is a great way to play with a friend or a child.
Is Mahjong Solitaire the same as mahjong?
